Hacking Goolge

Approach

The landscape of cybersecurity has changed, and to understand how these hackers work you have to think like one. The security team at Google does just that to keep us safe. Detailing the inception and unpacking the deception, we worked with Google Creative Lab developing a subset of 3d graphics for their six episode docuseries alongside their design and animation team. This is the story told through experiences that decode the countless invasive attacks of internet hackers over the past decade and the lengths Google will go to ensure web safety.

Development

For Hacking Google, we began by breaking the digital world down to its smallest unit, a single block of data. We explored how that block might behave, how layers of information stack within it, and how color could visualize the contrast between healthy clusters and infected areas of a system under attack. From this foundation, we developed a design language of 3D graphics in close collaboration with Google Creative Lab’s design and animation teams. Across the six-episode docuseries, these visuals help decode the deceptive tactics of hackers and illustrate the evolving lengths Google goes to safeguard the web.
